Donation Information

The Foundation is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. This means close to 100% of your donation goes directly to the libraries. Your tax-deductible donation can be designated for a specific program, a specific library branch or as a general gift.

DONATIONS IN ANY AMOUNT MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND ARE GRATEFULLY ACCEPTED.

Honorary and Memorial Gifts

For that friend or relative who has everything, a donation to the library in their honor is a thoughtful and meaningful gift. Memorial donations are an excellent way to honor the legacy of those who valued the library and its role in the community.

Bequests

The Foundation has an endowment fund designed specifically to accomodate bequests. You may choose to designate the Foundation Endowment Fund as a beneficiary in your will, trust or life insurance policy. Your estate planner can provide more information and help you to set this up.

Other Ways To Support the Foundation

It’s easy to be a library benefactor without ever writing a check. Two plans are available for anyone to contribute to the library: GoodSearch/GoodShop and eScrip.

GoodSearch.com and GoodShop.com

On the www.GoodSearch.com homepage, choose “Sonoma County Public Library Foundation” as the charity you wish to support. Do your search and know that you’re contribution will be added to all others doing the same.

By choosing GoodSearch (powered by Yahoo!) as your web search engine, you are sending a penny to the library every time you do a search. "A penny?" you might ask. Yes, a penny! For every search, one cent is given to the library. The searches and pennies add up to make a real difference.

In addition, over a thousand merchants donate varying percentages of your online purchases to the library through GoodShop. Several examples of merchants and their donations are: Avon, 4%; Barnes & Noble, 3%; Amazon, .5 – 1.5%; Flowers.com, 7%; Macy's, 1.5 – 2.5 %; and Target, 1.5 – 3.5%. Each of these merchants offers specific discount coupons to be honored only through GoodShop shopping.

Every time you do a web search or make an online purchase, you can benefit the library. This is a “can’t lose” method.

eScrip.com

Another “can’t lose” method of helping raise funds for special library projects is eScrip. Through this plan, you simply register your grocery cards, credit/debit card and retail credit cards that you use for purchases. When you use any of these cards with a participating merchant, a contribution is automatically sent to our library.

Just by registering your cards with eScrip, every time you shop, you are earning money for our library.

To sign up, simply go to www.escrip.com. Click on “membership,”  then “sign up.” The six steps are easy to follow and your membership in this program lasts a year. Registering your cards is free, easy and secure.
