An Open Letter to Ky Boyd of Rialto Cinemas Lakeside
On behalf of the Sonoma County Public Library Foundation, I wish to thank Ky Boyd and his amazing staff for years of support in hosting the Foundation’s annual Chocolate & Cinema! fundraising event. Year after year, Ky has generously donated his facility, staff and a classic film to make this event a reality and assist the Foundation in raising tens of thousands of dollars for the Sonoma County Library system.
Much of the draw to our fundraising event was the Rialto itself - a destination venue for the many reasons expressed in recent days by supporters. The Rialto is a community asset not only for offering diverse, intelligent and artistic films and events, but because it supports a wide range of local organizations important to Sonoma County.
Fundraising in a recession is not easy. Local businesses willing (and enthusiastic!) to give are more important than ever to our community.
